Prevent Child Abuse California, a chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, coordinates the good work of all the state’s child abuse prevention agencies and organizations. PCA CA takes the lead at the State Capitol, where it lobbies for child abuse prevention legislation, while educating policy makers about the social and economic impact of this public health crisis. Since its founding in 1977, the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Sacramento has led the way in child prevention efforts, pioneering successful child abuse prevention programs that have become models for other groups throughout California and the nation. Now focused in Romania, Lift the Children identifies, supports, and strengthens programs helping abandoned children. It strives to preserve families and integrate abandoned or exploited youth into society through education, vocational training, social assistance and counseling.
