Training Specialist  new!!

The Training Specialist is responsible for research, design, development, coordination and facilitation of Effective Parenting Initiative (EPI) training sessions and Mandated Child Abuse Reporting Training, related to the prevention of child abuse and neglect.  Essential duties and responsibilities include:

 

Training Coordination

Coordinate scheduling of trainings with Family Resource Centers and external organizations.  Respond to inquiries regarding EPI training.  Obtain general client information and training needs from community partners.  Create and assemble training materials, as needed.  Notify Training Coordinator and Training Manager of scheduled classes.  Participate as a member of the CAP Center Training and Development Institute.  Update the CAPCSAC website and training calendar as needed.

 

EPI, MCART, and Other Training

Prepare room for training including, but not limited to, setting up equipment and moving furniture.  Facilitate and present training curriculums as needed.  Update training curriculums, as needed.  Ensure that class participants complete competency testing, evaluations and sign-in sheets.  Collect and analyze data for grant reports.  Provide follow-up support to class participants as needed.

 

Data Collection & Report Writing

Analyze, collect, and interpret data from tests and evaluations for EPI grant reports.  Enter data into Excel spreadsheet and/or database for future data analysis.  In conjunction with the Deputy Director and Associate Director, write reports for grant funders. 

 

Other Duties

Acquire and enhance knowledge of parenting, family resource centers and home visitation through reading, research, conferences and participation on committees, as appropriate.  Attend and participate in on-site and off-site meetings and committees as necessary.

 

Two years of experience delivering training.  A Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, or related field is required.  Ability to develop and maintain dynamic relationships.  Ability to work with diverse workgroups.  Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and web navigation techniques.  Basic knowledge of MS Project and Excel preferred.  Solid research skills and instructional savvy to create and present clear and effective instructional content.  Ability to deal with complex situations and to collaborate effectively with personnel in order to provide timely and effective problem resolutions.  Superior communication skills.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt easily to change.  Must be team-oriented and possess excellent organizational and written skills.  Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships. Must possess a valid California Drivers License, a reliable automobile and auto insurance.  Must have a criminal background clearance from the Department of Justice.
